Aww, so beautiful! Lovely story, what a creative yet realistic alternative to the season 5 ending! I did find myself hoping there'd be at least one scene towards the end of Buffy & Spike making love, but I can also understand you maybe wanting to keep the story's focus on their friendship/trust/progression into love & keep it "pure". Again, wonderful job! A please to read[Report This]
Love this alteration of S6.
I can easily see Willow and Xander acting just like this even with Spike saving the world (and Dawn). I'm glad Tara broke up with Willow. I'd love her being a part of their little family too. She deserved better.
I enjoyed this once more. Miss you in fandom and your stories but so glad these are here to enjoy over and over.
This is lovely and sweet and perfect. I love Spike supporting Buffy as she figures out what kind of adult she's going to be, especially his “You’re going to be a woman going back to school so she can get a degree and make a better life for her family. People do it all the time, Buffy." That is just the perfect response to her worries, and I love him helping her become the adult version of herself.
I especially love Dawn telling her teachers that her brother-in-law was going to parent-teacher night. Dawn, you sneaky Spuffy shipper you.[Report This]
This is such a wonderful story, one of my favouites. It's so great how things was building up and how other people' saw that Spike and Buffy should be together. It took some time for Buffy to really see it, but "then she knew".
I keep returning to this story.[Report This]
“Big Bads don’t live in the Slayer’s basement, helping her little sister with her homework and bringing said Slayer ice cream on his way home from work when she calls and tells him she wants some,” Buffy pointed out.
... she kinda has a point
“I don’t know. The last time you went to one of these things, it was a disaster.”
Buffy almost would’ve sworn she’d seen him blush. “I promise I won’t try to kill anyone this time.”
“I told everyone my brother-in-law was coming.”
She's a sneaky one, of course she'd do this!
“I’m not asking for more, Buffy. Just being in your life, being there for you when you need someone, that’s better than what I ever thought I’d get. But sometimes, being so close to you and not getting to have you? Gets to be a bit much.”
*pets the Spike*
“Not at all. It would be great to have a guest over. Maybe it would convince Dawn and Spike to be on their best behavior and the meal wouldn’t dissolve into them throwing napkins back and forth for once.”
“That’s not… We’re not…” Buffy lowered her voice, as if she could only admit things of this nature to her little sister in a whisper. “We’re not sleeping together.”
Dawn rolled her eyes. “Yeah, and so aren’t a lot of old married couples.”
“Did you just actually compare Spike and me to an old married couple?”
“You sure fight like one.”
Loved this.[Report This]
This was really excellent!
i love how you envisioned what would have happened if Spike had saved Dawn from Doc in the Season 5 finale, and Buffy had not died. Great development of Buffy and Spike's blossoming friendship, without the angst and horror of Buffy's resurrection from the dead in Season 6, and all the ensuing misery and darkness.
I really enjoyed this! This would have been a solid plot trajectory for the series to take, that I would have loved so much more than where the series decided to go.
Well done![Report This]
I like how this story how their lives could have moved forward and eventually become a healthy relationship if neither Buffy nor Dawn had died at Glory's tower. I also like that it's a complete little set of vignettes that hold together, building a story that is complete as is. Really nice.[Report This]
This was beautiful. I really love the way their relationship developed and how everyone knew they were completely in love with each other before Buffy did. She's the poster child for denial, as always. ;) I particularly enjoyed the lovely family vibe that was so nicely set up between Spike and his girls and the lovely conversation with Tara. And the ending was just fantastic![Report This]
I liked it very much. Glad you saved her from dying. I hated that , and did not enjoy what was done with them afterwards. Joss an his helpers really like to torture their characters. I like your stories very much.
