So I've been looking back at 'Romeo + Juliet', particularly this review, which made me think a lot about Buffy and Angel's relationship in season 2. Basically, how the play is about young love; the feeling of how much in love youngsters feel because they have nothing to compare it to. 

(Just watch the review, especially the last half, in order to see what I mean.)

So I wondered...what if Buffy had made this realization? 

Would be awesome if she realizes it in an English class while studying the play, or a Drama class while performing the play. 

If a teacher is the one who explains it to her, then it's not said in a nasty way, else Buffy won't listen. 

Buffy's eyes are opened and she realizes just how wrong her relationship with Angel is. 

She resolves to do the opposite of Romeo and Juliet, and discusses it with adults, like Giles, Joyce and Jenny, who all give their honest opinions that really help her. 

Maybe she somehow ends up talking with Spike about it? Maybe Spike is the one who tells her about what Angel has done in the past? Or he even points out that Angel was using the whole "Romeo & Juliet" vibe in order to purposely lure Buffy into his arms? 

No rushing into the Spuffy relationship. There has to be a realistic build-up.
