Additional Comments: Good grasp of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.  Decent knowledge of canon.  Currently reading the comics.

Beta experience: I’ve alpha- and beta-read for several writer friends and their original works over past 10ish the years. I haven’t beta-ed much fan fiction (yet!) but I’m an all or nothing person who will always put 100% into everything she does.
Story types/topics I will not beta: I’m generally open to anything, though not a big fan of all human/fantasy stories. But overall, I pick stories for the tone, characterization and plot, so I wouldn’t categorically say no any topic. If the concept excites me, I’m in.
Additional Comments: + I have proofread tons of academic essays so I’m a bit of a grammar/punctuation/spelling enthusiast.
+ My day job is in social work with children so any questions about raising kids and/or the psychology of children can probably be answered relatively confidently by me.
+ I have lived near NYC and am pretty knowledgeable about the City (in a present 2016 or later setting).
+ I love learning about history (especially European and American history), neurodiversity and musical theater. These look weird stuck together but I know a bunch about all three if that should ever, for whatever reason, become relevant.

Beta experience: I used to beta for (mostly) Glee fanfic on FF when I was in high school, but I don't remember everyone and I'm pretty sure they've all quit writing and disappeared from the internet since I haven't heard from any of them in a long time.
Story types/topics I will not beta: Can't think of anything.
Additional Comments: I'm an English major and one of those nerds who actually enjoy editing/proofreading. I'm planning on teaching high school English someday so that's probably a good thing in my chosen line of work.

Beta experience: None. Just proofing docs at work and loving to read.
Story types/topics I will not beta: None
Additional Comments: Will need clear communication since I've not done this before.  Not sure if people use novice betas.

Beta experience: I'm currently betaing Make Me Feel by TheDanishBird.
Story types/topics I will not beta: I won't beta anything with excessive character bashing, like Angel kind of sucks but he's definitely not some crazy rapist or monster with his soul. Though I'm not terribly keen on Xander and absolutely believe he needs a dressing down or 30. I definitely don't feel comfortable betaing for stories that blame Buffy for the bathroom scene, though I totally agree that she was complicit in the abuse of their abusive relationship.
Additional Comments: I'm from Southern California originally, I actually took my SAT at Torrance High where Buffy was filmed (though about 15 years after the show premiered), but now live in the UK. So I can offer a decent perspective on both types of English commonly used in these stories.

Beta experience: I've often checked stories for my friends and peers
Story types/topics I will not beta: I'm not too cool with non-magical/non-monster AUs but if your story falls here contact me anyway and we can talk
Additional Comments: I have an English degree and I'm one of those annoying people who loves correcting everyone else's grammar so I can help you there! Make it as sexy as you like, I'm cool with that (I'm even good with that, haha) and I look forward to reading your awesome fic!

Beta experience: I mostly help friends and family. I can't even remember the names of their stories! I'm so bad at names. But I beta my own stories so that's a clues as to how I work.
Story types/topics I will not beta: I'm pretty open to anything. That doesn't mean I'll accept everything, but I won't shoot stories down based on categories or taboo content.
Additional Comments: I'm extremely friendly, and well versed in the Buffy T.V. series. I don't know much about the comics though. I'll work with you and if you don't like something I do I'll redo it. I do want to warn you that I tend to rework the chapters so they flow better. I delete what I feel is awkward. I also care about characters being well written, so I may tweak dialogue. I don't just fix grammar unless that's what is called for. I'm like a mechanic. I'll give your jaguar a tune up, but I'll also fix the brakes and engine and replace the tires. I want your car to run as smooth as possible and live up to its potential.

Beta experience: I do not yet have beta experience, but I am very willing to help.
Story types/topics I will not beta:
Additional Comments: While I do not yet have beta experience, I am a very skilled writer with great knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and structure. I frequently proofread and review papers for my brother's and my friends' college courses. I excelled on the writing section of the SAT, scoring a 780 out of 800, supporting my understanding of the written word.
I have read countless Spuffy stories and am familiar with numerous authors and works, so I can provide input to help prevent any unintentional plagiarism and to develop unique plot devices.
I have watched BTVS and ATS numerous times, and I own most of the comics. Thus, I have a strong and vast knowledge of canonical and character elements within the Buffy-verse, and I can provide feedback on canon-compliance and characterization.
I'm super willing to help out or chat with anyone who might be interested!

Beta experience: I have little beta experience but am very meticulous when it comes to grammar, punctuation, etc. Not always with my own work but definitely with that of others.
Story types/topics I will not beta: *NON CON* is a no go for me. Dub con I can do but please send warning with your chapter. :)
