Beta experience: I am a total beginner with fanfiction, but interested in trying my hand here. I am great with punctuation, spelling and grammar. My only real editing experience, aside from helping my kids with homework (after homeschooling for 7 years) was assisting my husband with his college papers when he was finishing up his degree a few years ago.
I'd prefer to start with relatively short stories or chapters, as I have not done this before.

Story types/topics I will not beta: Crossover fic, unless it is with AtS. I am unlikely to be familiar with other shows.

Additional Comments: I am more familiar with BtVS than Angel, but have a general grasp of AtS, just not the fine details. Familiarity with Ramones songs & punk bands. :)

Additional Comments: My general style is to ask you what kind of feedback you want, and I can do everything from the most basic reader reaction (tell me when you stopped reading and why) to comprehensive content editing (do these events/characters work for me as a reader/writer) to nitpicky grammar/spelling/punctuation advice, or a combination, or even something else if that's what you want.  I make sure to note things I like as well as things that could be improved, and where I do find problems, I try to look at it from several angles and provide a variety of options.
I used to be an English/French/Russian teacher and have taught Creative Writing in high school as well as other English classes and French and Russian, so I have a very nuanced understanding of grammar and linguistics.
