Summary: Gifts takes place in an AU where Spike was resurrected as a human after dying in "Chosen" in 2003 (so the 5th season of Angel never happened). After becoming human again, Spike went back to the name William, and did not contact any of the Scoobies.
Gifts begins five years later, when 22-year-old Dawn accidentally meets William-formerly-Spike in New York City, and learns the story of his first five years as a human. The story goes from there.
The plot revolves around the Key, and the question: is the Key too dangerous to be allowed to exist?
The story will eventually span several decades.
Please note: while Gifts is a WIP, the structure is more similar to the structure of a television show than to the structure of a novel. The chapters are grouped into "episodes" with titles, and some of the "episodes" are stand-alone stories.
