'm just here for the read. Edit: Almost just here for the read, I actually wrote something too. Before that I just tried to make the cast of Buffy into sims. Below you can see a couple of pics from my Spike infested Sims 2 game. And below those, my latest project. It is an attempt to play the whole story from the very start, before Spike even became a vampire, and see where the characters take me in game. It is posted as a story that is called "Another Kind of Sunnydale" (se link below the pictures). Because of the format with many Pictures, this story should be read on a computer. To me, it seems to look the best when the browser's viewing size is set to 75 %. Since English isn't my first language, I really could use a beta, preferably British since that is what am always trying for anyway, and this could be a great opportunity to sort out what's what. Buffy is one of the best hero figures ever, and even more so because she is female, but Spike’s story arc is also one of the most captivating tales I have encountered. The very thing that makes Spike so fascinating is that he starts out as William, that is what gives him this irresistible vulnerability that makes one want to comfort him and wonder why that darned Buffy is so stupid and can’t see what she’s missing – at least that’s the way I felt the first time I watched the show. On re-watching, it was clear to me why it all had to play out the way it did; his story is one of redemption and that he would choose to end the way he did in season 7 makes all kinds of sense. Spike coming back and re-surfacing in AtS still felt as a relief, but also added even more frustration and confusion to my heartbreak before I finally found fanfiction and got the chance to see alternate story lines and some happy endings. Since then I have learned a lot of things about myself and what it is that makes me keep on reading stories about the characters of Spike and Buffy, what I seek, what I need. First of all they’ve become kind of archetypes, so I guess I’ll never completely get tired of reading new takes on the theme. But there also are some things that have haunted me since I first watched the show, feelings that I want to put to rest and then be able to move on. Originally I wasn’t very interested in AH stories, but that has changed. Now I like it when the characters are taken out of the original context and the themes can be explored without the supernatural and the vampire/slayer complications. That said – this site keeps providing new and surprisingly fresh and exciting takes on the characters without straying that far away from canon.

This story is not at all canon. It could be described as a reboot of the show and a mixture of comic and written story, with much more text than a comic book would have and using the game The Sims 3 not only for the pictures, but also in regard to its supernatural content. That means whole new rules regarding for example how vampires work, compared to the original TV-show. Half the fun for me making this story, is actually creating the sims and building the sets. The first three chapters are a little awkward, since it took me a while to get a hang of how to take the pictures (I will probably make a new banner at some point) and also to find my own voice. IMO the story starts to take off in chapter 4.

Warnings: adult language, adult themes, violence, torture (implied), rape (implied), character death, nudity, sexual situations, slash - and (since it is a story that starts from the beginning) there will be plenty of Spike/Other and Buffy/Other.
