Great writing, love it. Poor spike will be suffering and good writing for the angel character in this chapter. Really liked that Angel knows theres really no way they could be together as he knows buffy still loves Spike. REUNION NEEDED!!!!!!! Anyway love this story well done.
UPDATE UPDATE Cant wait to read the following chapters :-)
Dont normally like to read AU fics, but im really enjoying this one. Uve kept alot of the characteristics of the characters which i sometimes find is lost. Cant wait to read the rest
I really love how you portray Angel in this story. You get kind of sick of the constant Angel-bashing in Spuffy fics, so it is refreshing to see a more canon Angel being represented. Great as always :)
A very noble Angel you've created here. I like that.
Angel is not the villain...Angel is not the villain...Angel is the GOOD guy. You gave Spike a chance to redeem himself in the moment when he recognized that Buffy could have died based on his own actions. Spike is going to change drastically from this point on--whether it's self-flagellation over causing Buffy harm or how he will love her from this point forward. Don't know if he will ever think himself worthy.
I also can't help but think of the reprecussions that not participating in the swim meet will bring to Buffy via Hank. No swimmy for the scout, no house for Joyce. Arggh. Your angst-filled fic is driving me insane. Update soon!
Every one of your characters acts in their individual self-interests, save Willow. I have to keep convincing myself that Angel is not the villain here, but I can't help but seethe and despair on behalf of Spike. Buffy seeks comfort in Angel, the "neutral" outsider because of Spike and her parents; Spike can't help but lash out like the wounded animal his broken heart makes him; and telephone-father!Hank wanting the prestige an Ivy League-educated daughter can bring.
I suppose you've made great expectations, insecurity, Hank, and Snyder as the villains, but can't help how I feel lack of evil-intent in Angel disconcerting.
You're weaving all the threds together to bring about these brilliant moments. I'm almost caught up to the present!
Figure it out, Spike! You know her better than anyone.
This chapter was so well done that I had tears running down my face.
I love how your Willow is willing to make her own decision about Buffy's happiness. Hope Spike's future doesn't end up being destroyed in pursuit of regaining Buffy's trust. But with the epic feel of your fic lives will be ruined in the process.
In canon, Hank's abandonment was always one of the shadows in the background. Now his sinister presence is reaching out to Buffy all the way from LA. Pile on the torment!
Those 2 lines are what Spike is totally about. You are a wordsmith!
Spike as a drunken raccoon? (tee hee) you can find humor in angst. So many ways for Buffy to intepret "I miss you." Spike still could be guilty of all he did and still miss her.
Spike. Joyce. Buffy hurt. Get the hell away from my daughter! (kncoks on head with fire axe)
Big Brother!Xander's motives are still suspect no matter what he claims. Willow's got a better graso on all things Spuffy, but won't think the worst of her male friend. Angel knows--which means another plot twist. Yay!
Sniffle. This crashing down of best-laid plans and recognition of the moment one's heart breaks is beautifully-written angst. Well done!
I think I need to bug you no end for an update!
I didn't see this coming, but I liked LOTS!
*huggles*
Buffy brush -off. Give a bloke a chance.
hot. Fans self.
They're being real. Buffy is letting Spike in--yay, you!
Sexy snuggle time!
Spike so know how to woo. Great job!
oh, to have that young love...sigh...
Buffy's so close to that elephant stampede. Let's see how much love has taken root.
Don't mess things up, Spike. Queen C is throwing down the gauntlet in more ways than one! Knew Angel was whisked away too soon.
Ah, young love. I can't recall Williw-Buffy dishing on boys-moments. Thank you for giving us these flashbacks and BFF gushings.
EF ate my review yesterday, been having troubles with my internet. *shakes fist*
I'm glad Angel is being the bigger man but I doubt Buffy will want to see Spike ever again, let alone anytime soon. He really screwed up this time, but I think she was too blame a bit too, I mean, seriously!! She should have confided in him instead of breaking his heart when he came to her house that time, after all the trouble be went through to get her to talk to him again! Silly girl!!!
Foolish actions that Spike will forever regret...but his quick responses in the water were definitely life-savng. Angel came up with a surprise - he ws quick, helpful and gave out a story that did not blame Spike!
Off to the hospital to see how Buffy is doing ...
That was scary. Spike is suffering for so many different reasons. He will really be kicking himself once he finds out why Buffy broke up with hi. Poor Buffy.
